LOS ANGELES – July 12, 2007 – MyMedicalRecords.com (“MMR”), a leading provider of Web-based Personal Health Records (“PHRs”), has integrated the Cerner Multum® Drug Content Database, which gives subscribers the ability to access detailed information on over 20,000 prescription and over the counter drugs to learn more about medications they are taking and to check for interactions. The company also is making an abridged version available to anyone who visits www.mymedicalrecords.com, as a way to encourage greater personal health awareness. The database links to the prescription list in each user’s MMR account. Users can click on any entry to get comprehensive information on that drug, or obtain a complete list of interactions, including with food. The system automatically checks for interactions with all drugs MMR members have entered in their prescription list and reports on potential threats between multiple medications. An auto-completion feature presents the user with a progressively shorter list of name options as the user types the name of a drug. This greatly simplifies data entry and ensures complete accuracy. The database includes brand name and generic versions of a drug with different dosages. Users also are alerted to the number of drugs that interact with the one(s) they have chosen. “This potentially life-saving tool separates MyMedicalRecords.com from any other on-line Personal Health Record,” said Robert H. “Bob” Lorsch, MyMedicalRecords.com CEO. “Not only can our subscribers manage their prescriptions safely on-line, they also benefit from a knowledge base that provides greater insight into any dangerous drug interactions or side effects. This is the latest in a series of enhancements that make MMR the most user friendly Personal Health Record on the market.” MyMedicalRecords.com already has useful features such as calendar reminders for prescription refills, doctor appointments and medications that are integrated with Microsoft Outlook®, a family medical history database and a special emergency log-in portal that allows medical personnel to access vital information about a subscriber, such as blood type, allergies and medical history, in the event of a crisis. At the core of the service is a document management and communications platform that allows doctors to fax medical and personal health records such as lab test results and immunization reports into a user’s account. Each account holder has their own personal telephone number, which serves as a User ID that is secured by a user-created password. Images such as x-rays, scans and MRIs can be uploaded directly from the computer desktop. Users then can efficiently and confidentially manage their health records in a personalized filing cabinet. Information can be retrieved 24/7 from any Internet-connected computer. ABOUT MYMEDICALRECORDS.COM Microsoft Outlook® is a registered trademark of Microsoft Corporation. |
